Mr Foong Siew Bun

Mr Foong Sew Bun is currently the Deputy Chief Executive of GovTech, the lead agency driving Singapore’s Smart Nation initiative and public sector digital transformation. He leads the Services, Governance and Cybersecurity groups helping to drive the adoption of policies on security, resilience and usability of solutions for the public sector.
Prior to GovTech, Sew Bun led agile transformation and digital innovation as the Global Head (Retail, Private Banking and Wealth Management) of Standard Chartered Bank. Sew Bun was also an IBM Distinguished Engineer, Lead Cloud Advisor and regional Chief Technology Officer, leading top enterprises and partners with expert technology and innovation strategies in business transformation. Sew Bun served on IBM top technical councils, including the IBM Technology Team Advisory Council, IBM Academy of Technology Leadership Team, IBM Cloud Advisor Leadership Team, and Distinguished Engineer Boards. Throughout his 16-year career with IBM, Sew Bun was recognised with several important awards, including the Asia Pacific Technical Representative of the Year Award, Global Technical Leadership Achievement Awards (IT Architect Profession) and Best of IBM Award.
Sew Bun was named “IT Professional of the Year” by the Singapore Computer Society in 2016. Sew Bun is also an Adjunct Professor with the National University of Singapore. He serves on several academia and industry advisory boards, including the Keppel Corp Technology Advisory Panel, Advisory Committee member of the Singapore Polytechnic Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, National University Health System Board IT Committee and Singapore Computer Society Executive Committee. He was one of the 50 Singaporeans featured in “SG50 – Nation of Skilled Talents” commemorative book.
