Aik Lim has over 20 years of experience in the Information Technology industry,both in the public and private sectors. In the then-IDA and later GovTech, he held leadership positions relating to e-commerce development, industry development, international relations and strategic planning. His work responsibilities in the development of the infocomm technology industry from the dotcom period to the current Industrial Revolution 4.0 period in IDA saw the growth and expansion of the ecosystem ranging from startups, promising local enterprises to big MNCs in Singapore. During his public sector career, he helped develop strategies, implement initiatives and programmes to increase the “rootedness” of MNCs in Singapore; grew the pool of local infocomm enterprises, including nurturing infocomm startups (pioneered the work in building of the startup ecosystem); and delivered strategic programmes that strengthened the capabilities of the infocomm industry.
After leaving the public sector, Aik Lim helmed a 20-year old IT resourcing company, Xcellink which provided more than 800 IT resources to big corporations such as HP and NCS and offered talent recruitment services.. In recent years, he has focused his attention to the flourishing startup scene in Singapore. He was Managing Partner of IZMUS, an Israeli startup business consultancy which brought high growth deep technology startups from the Startup Nation to the region.
Aik Lim is actively involved in the Singapore Computer Society (SCS) where he serves in the Exco of the IDM Chapter. He was previously also in the Exco of the Singapore Enterprise Chapter in the then-SiTF.
In CIO Academy Asia, Aik Lim drives the international operations for CIOAA as the thought leadership organization looks to tap on the growth of the vibrant ASEAN market in engaging with the opportunities and challenges of the 4th Industrial Revolution.
