Robert is the Cluster Director of the Modern Services Cluster at IMDA. He represents IMDA in efforts to drive digitalisation across several sectors such as financial services, legal and accountancy in partnership with the various sector leads.
Robert has taken the lead on key national projects like the nationwide e-invoicing framework which saw Singapore beocme the first national authority outside Europe to join OpenPEPPOL. He has also been appointed to the Management Committee of OpenPEPPOL which oversees the governance of the ecosystem.
Robert is also engaged in several inter-agency initiatives including; SGQR, where he was co-chair of the taskforce appointed by the Singapore Payments Council which developed and implemented SGQR; BSB, where he is co-lead with MAS on an initiative to look at inter-platform discovery and matching; Hawkers Go Digital, where IMDA and ESG are co-leads dirving epyament adoption in the hawker space.
Robert read law at Kings College London and was called to the Inns of Court as a barrister. He has also been called as an advocate and solicitor at the Singapore Bar. Prior to joining IMDA he worked at one of Singapore’s largest law firms and has held various legal and operational roles at payment and technology companies.
