Criteria

General Guidelines

  1. The nominees are judged primarily on their innovativeness in the use of infocomm technology or the innovative development of an infocomm product/solution.
  2. Categories Judging Criteria
    The “MOST IMPACTFUL” category recognises the innovation and impact behind a product or solution developed by Singapore Infocomm Technology (ICT) companies. The innovations must have an outstanding impact on the way businesses operate, or enhance the quality of lives for consumers.

    The “MOST PROMISING” category recognises up and coming Singapore ICT companies that have fulfilled a marketplace need by developing a commercially viable business model around a product, service, process or a platform, which has the potential to be sustainable in the long run. These companies must have carved out new markets for themselves with high growth potential.

    The “BEST ADOPTION” category recognises Singapore companies in the Public/Private/SME sectors who have leveraged technology (e.g. AI/IoT/AR/VR/BCDL) to transform their business operations, resulting in greater competitive advantage, operational efficiency, and enhanced productivity.

  3. These transformational product and services, helps drive a Smart Nation and contributes to the Singapore Economy.
  4. A Nominator may nominate his or her own organisation, or another company for the award. The Nominee should be a Singapore-registered company.

Entries Eligibility

  1. General Eligibility
    1. The eligible product category for Techblazer Awards nomination entry must meet the following criteria:
      1. The organization and/or individual must own the product/technology exploitation rights to the Intellectual Property (IP).
      2. Majority of the product development efforts (including, research and development and design) carried out and done within Singapore.
      3. Registration is open to all local organisations and Singapore-based ICT companies that are registered as a legal entity under the Singapore company act.
  2. Non-Eligibility
    1. An entry which has won an award in the National Infocomm Award 2016 and/or SiTF Awards 2017 is not eligible for participation in the SG:DTechblazer 2018 Award, unless there is substantial enhancements made on the original winning entry for it to be considered in 2018 competition.
  3. Award Entries
    1. Participants can submit into two (02) categories per project.
    2. Submissions must meet all criteria stipulated in this guideline, otherwise considered disqualified.

Awards Process

  1. Call for Entries Submission
    1. Submission will close on 17 August 2018, at 2359 hrs sharp.
    2. Submissions must meet all criteria stipulated in the guideline, otherwise considered disqualified.
  2. Preliminary Judging
    1. Preliminary Judging will be held on 3 to 5 September 2018.
    2. Participants will be notified via email on 24 August 2018 on the presentation date and time. Judging dates are pre-arranged according to the availability of the judges in the respective categories. Request to reschedule will not be accommodated.
    3. Each entry will be allocated 18mins (10mins is presentation time and 5min is Q&A; an additional 3mins will be allocated for setup).
  3. Final Judging
    1. Shortlisted entries from preliminary judging will be informed via email on their successful qualification to the final round of judging by 14 September 2018.
    2. Final Judging will be held from 25 to 27 September 2018. Finalists will be notified via email on the exact date and time slot.
    3. Participants will be notified via email on the presentation date and time. Judging dates are pre-arranged according to the availability of the judges in the respective categories. Request to reschedule will not be accommodated.
    4. Each entry will be given 35mins (20mins for presentation, 10mins for Q&A and 5mins will be allocated for setup).
    5. The finalist will be given the following:
      1. A certificate to recognize participation into the final
      2. One (01) ticket to attend the award prize presentation event
      3. Use of Techblazer Awards Finalist logo on company name cards
      4. Shortlisted finalists may get the chance to be invited to participate in overseas Demo Days, pitching and business matching sessions.
  4. Prize Ceremony
    1. All finalists will be invited to attend the prize ceremony on 7 November 2018.
    2. Details of the ceremony will be given to the shortlisted participants through email by the awards secretariat.

Judging Process

  1. Head Judge
    1. There is a Head Judge for each category.
    2. The responsibility of the Head Judge:
      1. Has the authority to combine the sub-categories award if the number of entries are limited
      2. Has the authority to make special nomination or award for a particular domain especially if there is a huge number of entries in one sub-category.
  2. Panel of Judges
    1. There is a Lead Judge in each panel. The responsibilities of the Lead Judge is to facilitate discussion (if applicable) for panel to pick the winners.
    2. If there is dispute and not able to resolve, it shall be escalated to the Head Judge of the category for resolution.
    3. The Lead Judge shall make recommendation to nominate for special award
    4. The Lead and Head Judge may be the same person
  3. Decision
    1. The decision of the Head Judge and Panel Judges are final.
