Ms Eveline Lim
Deputy Director, Innovation & Tech Ecosystem Division
Infocomm Media Development Authority
Eveline has a passion for tech and has been with IMDA (and IDA previously) for the last 16 years. Her main charter in IMDA is to drive national programmes targeted at developing our local Tech SMEs’ digital capabilities such as Cybersecurity, Cloud Native, and DevOps through GoSecure and GoCloud programmes to support digitalisation in a Digital Economy. Her team is also instrumental in the development of the Tech Capability Self-Assessment Tool to help Tech SMEs assess their state of capabilities in Cloud Native and Cybersecurity. This will enable the Tech SMEs to identify their capability gaps and guide them on interventions to help them grow the capability. She is familiar with using the UXD methodology to look at problems/challenges and drive changes in user experiences and innovation.
Eveline’s past experiences also include driving partnerships and collaborations across stakeholders with MNCs, IHLs, RIs and Enterprise Users and government agencies to develop local capabilities in the areas of AI, Data Analytics, and IoT. These include setting up centres of innovation to forge partnerships between MNCs/RIs and Tech SMEs for tech and capabilities transfer to local companies. Also projects that develop platforms for lead user with Tech SMEs to provide an integrated customer experience. She also started the Data Innovation Challenge programme as a platform to drive innovation through the use of data to solve problems. A key highlight is the Video Analytics Challenge that pushed the boundary of industry and IHLs/RIs to develop new algorithms for video analytics which surpassed industry norm as a result of the challenge. The video analytics algorithms were then further refined that helped the development of various commercialised products for the winning company.
