Mr Tan Wee Keong

Mr Tan Wee Keong joined the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA, formerly Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore) in 2008.  Currently holding the position of Deputy Director, Mr Tan is currently part of Innovation and Tech Ecosystem team, driving the growth of promising and innovative Singapore-based high-growth ICM product companies through the Accreditation@SG:D and SG:D Spark programmes.

During his tenure in IMDA, Mr Tan also undertook various nation-wide infrastructure projects and was involved in Singapore’s tech start-up ecosystem during his stint in Infocomm Investments Pte Ltd, a wholly own venture capital subsidiary of IMDA.  A key achievement was the setup of BASH (Build Amazing Start-ups Here) in JTC Launchpad in 2015, as an integrated start-up space to encourage entrepreneurship, foster partnership and community to support the growth of Singapore’s start-up ecosystem.   Mr Tan was also involved in the development of Singapore's Infocomm professionals through policy planning and formulation, so as to ensure that Singapore continues to attract as well as to produce talented ICT professionals to meet the industry demands.

Prior to joining the civil service, Mr Tan held various engineering, product development and product management positions in the infocomm and telecommunication sector for over 6 years.  Mr Tan undertook portfolios in both traditional telecom services, such as IP transit and international voice, as well as ICT managed services, such as data centre hosting and managed security services.
